🌿 Empowering the next generation in sustainable agriculture 🌱 We had the privilege of sharing insights on hemp cultivation and the Hemp4Circularity project with the bright minds of Ghent University’s master program in bioscience engineering technology (Agriculture) 👩🎓 It’s inspiring to show these students the potential of hemp within a more circular and sustainable agricultural sector. In just a few months, these students will be stepping into the professional world. #Hemp4Circularity #SustainableFuture #HempEducation #hemp Interreg North-West Europe (NWE)

Textile Manufacturing
Innovative, local, biobased ecological fibre in the textile value chain of N-W Europe. Support of ERDF and Wallonia.
About us
Hemp4Circularity is an Interreg NWE project that aims to implement an innovative, local and biobased ecological fibre - the long fibre hemp - in the textile value chain of North-West Europe, from growers to weavers/knitters, from field to fashion. The project sets up pilot actions at several stages of the value chain (cultivating, primary processing, data-driven farming, spinning, fabric production) to optimize all stages of the production, in order to be durably implemented, from fiber to recycling solutions. With this project, from field to recycled fibre, hemp is a driver of circularity in the textile industry ! The project aims to bring opportunities to: Farmers, by implementing a profitable crop with a positive impact The flax sector, with a complementary fibre in order to enlarge the possibilities of this sector. The textile industry in general and the brands, in demand for local and sustainable materials The end-users, also in demand for local and sustainable textile and information about natural fibres available. 11 partners work together : - Valbiom (BE) - Inagro (BE) - Lin et Chanvre Bio (FR) - HOGENT (BE) - Hyler (BE) - Van de Bilt seeds and flax (NL) - Safilin (FR) - Libeco (BE) - Delphy (NL) - Alliance for European Flax-Linen & Hemp (FR) - Natuvalis (DE)

Last week, the partners in the Hemp4Circularity project visited Van de Bilt zaden en vlas bv in the Netherlands to process our 2024 crop of long fibre hemp 🚜 We now have our first raw material of the proess chain in hand, and more importantly, we know how to process long-fibre hemp even better! 🌿 An important step towards the H4C project's goal of establishing long-fibre hemp in the sustainable textile industry of north-west Europe 👕 #hemp4circularity #textilehemp #durabletextile #hemp Interreg North-West Europe (NWE)
📣 The last data of our #fiberhemp trails 2023 are in! Thanks to Van de Bilt zaden en vlas bv (Bart Depourcq) for your time and the use of your scutching line. These trials were conducted within the project Interreg North-West Europe (NWE) Hemp4Circularity where we tested for the optimal variety, seeding density and fertilisation of #hemp 🚜 .
