The Libramont Agricultural Fair, held every end of July in the Belgian town of Libramont, is the go-to event for farmers, bioengineers, agronomical companies, and institutions. This year, the fair once again proved to be a hub of innovation and networking, with long-fibre hemp and Hemp4Circularity taking center stage.
A Growing Interest in Hemp Cultivation
Hemp4Circularity’s presence at the fair was marked by the high interest of visitors on the booth. The ‘Easy Turner’ machine from Hyler displayed at the booth was a significant draw for attendees from the flax sector, sparking curiosity and conversations. The Hemp4Circularity project attracted over 60 professionals who were eager to learn more about the potential of hemp. Amongst them, growers, agronomical companies and designers showed a keen interest.
Engaging the Industry with Insightful Discussions
One of the highlights of Hemp4Circularity’s participation was a conference that gathered dozens of attendees. The conference featured notable speakers such as Bart De Pourcq, Chairman of The Alliance, Valentine Donck, Scientific Coordinator of H4C, and Joséphine Allaert, Researcher at Inagro. The speakers provided a comprehensive overview of the annual figures for the flax and hemp sectors and shared the latest results from H4C, including insights from the data farming project with Watch It Grow.
The informative session was followed by a networking drink at the booth, allowing participants to exchange ideas, build connections, and discuss potential collaborations. The fair offered a unique opportunity for stakeholders in the hemp industry to engage directly with the H4C team and explore the future of hemp cultivation in Europe.
Looking Ahead
As the interest in hemp continues to grow, the Libramont Fair has solidified its role as a key platform for advancing the conversation around sustainable agriculture. For those who missed this year’s event, Hemp4Circularity looks forward to welcoming you next year to continue the dialogue and share even more exciting developments in the hemp sector.
